● Bar Soba serves up Asian fusion dishes in 3 locations across Glasgow. The menu has a wide variety of main dishes ranging from £10-15. The menu also offers sharing plates and dumpling which are priced between £4.75-6.50. They offer a chilled-out place to catch up with friends and enjoy some great food.

When you sign up to their ‘Soba Student’ scheme you can receive 50% off all dishes and 25% off drinks from Sunday - Thursday which might make the food taste just that little bit better!

● Paesano is a popular restaurant for all pizza lovers. They offer artisan wood-fired pizzas the menu consists of 9 pizzas but offer weekly specials. They offer a wide variety of meat, fish and veg dishes which means they can cater to most dietary requirements.

● Bloc+ lies somewhat hidden on Bath street the underground bar has an edgy vibe to it. There are always events going on from gigs and live music during the week making it a nice place to hang out with friends. They have ‘deal days’ which run from Monday to Friday, which include such things as Steak Wednesday, where you can get a 6oz sirloin for £5 or Pasta Monday for £3. During the weekend they also have a 10oz rump steak for £10.


NYC Bar & Grill , 185 Hope Street

● NYC Bar & Grill have a wide range of American style food, this includes burgers, hot dogs, wings and mac and cheese. They are well known for their Tuesday night wing deal where the wings are only 20p and available in 10 different flavours. If you can’t make a Tuesday, from Sunday-Thursday they also have 2 for 1 on burgers and hot dogs meaning dinner for two for under a tenner!


Republic Bier Halle , 9 Gordon St

● Republic Bier Halle is tucked away off Buchanan Street with an unassuming entrance, once you enter the Bier Halle it comes into its own. Inspired by Eastern European beer halls although, by their name you may think that is there only focus, they are highly regarded for their food and their popular ‘2-4-1’ pizzas the rest of the menu is full of hearty meals for around £6. Bier Halle provides a chilled-out space to get away from the bustle and enjoy a nice meal and a stein to two.


Kimchi Cult , 14 Chancellor Street

● Kimchi Cult is Scotland’s first Korean style fast food sit in, take away and delivery. They offer Korean food such as bibimbap (Korean rice bowl), bao (Taiwanese steamed bun), Korean fried chicken and burgers. The establishment is named after the traditional dish of kimchi which is pickled vegetables and most of the dishes include some form of kimchi. This may not be to everyone’s taste but with no item being over £10 it might be worth being adventurous.


Hillhead Book Club , 17 Vinicombe street

● Hillhead Book Club is in the West End of Glasgow, their menu offers dishes under titles such as ‘straight from the allotment’, ‘snacks for when just a little peckish’ and ‘things you wish your maw cooked’ to name a few. They have a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian options all for a relatively affordable price. Sandwiches start at £5.50 and main meals start from £8.50. They also have an arcade machine with over 40 games and a Super Nintendo to entice you in. Hillhead book club is further from Glasgow City Centre than the rest but is worth the journey.
