1. Doomsday Preppers- This show follows numerous American families as they prepare for their own interpretation of the fall of civilisation. The are many conspiracy theories about how this will happen and a whole host of interesting individuals. There is something captivating about the many reinforced fortresses and the plans which these people have put in place.


2. Tiny House Nation- Tiny Houses are fascinating concepts this show is like Grand Designs but on a much smaller scale with the whole house being 500 square feet or under. It’s easy to get lost in this show with the beautiful and creative houses that are produced.


3. Dark Tourist- Dark tourism involves travelling to places not often thought of as must-see tourist spots, often for morbid reasons. This series shows off some of these places as you follow journalist David Farrier across the globe as gets first-hand experience of what these dark tourism hotspots feature.


4. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia – The show follows a group of friends who own a bar together it is one of the longest running American tv sitcoms and it’s easy to see why the show has been such a roaring success the show is quick paced and ridiculous as you follow ‘The Gang’ while they get into all sorts of escapades.


5. 60 Days In – Ever wonder how non-criminals would fare in jail? This show will tell you exactly how as innocent people get sent into jails in America to observe and report back on any illicit activity within the jail that the Sheriff may not know about. No one apart from the Sheriff knows that they are entering the jail. It is an interesting look at the ins and outs of prison life that you may not always consider.


6. Impractical Jokers – ‘Four friends work together to embarrass each other’. Does what it says on the tin, easy watching and always good for a giggle as the four guys stumble their way through challenges to avoid the cringeworthy punishment at the end of each episode.


7. 72 Dangerous Places to Live – This is a countdown of the most dangerous places to live from unexpected sinkholes forming underneath your house to volcanic eruptions. The show uses history and geography to understand where and when might be the most dangerous places to call home.


8. Nailed It! – Great British Bake Off gone wrong. Instead of using those who have excelled in the field of baking Nailed It! uses amateur home bakers who may not necessarily always be the most adept at baking. Presented with two demanding tasks which they are not always best equipped for the results are always hilarious and it has a good feel good vibe to it.


9. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend – An American romantic musical comedy-drama television series, if there is something for everyone in this show. Although it may seem airy in nature this show deals with some harder hitting themes such as mental illness, abortion, sexuality and familial issues. The show is honest and raw but also provides catchy and funny songs to keep you entertained and make the harder topics more digestible.


10. Avatar: The Last Airbender – The cartoon despite originally being aimed towards children in its first incarnation has managed to grab itself a place at number 6th best rated TV series of all time on IMDB. Over a decade later the series still remains just as popular. Set in a fictional world where the four elements are able to be manipulated by special individuals knows as ‘benders’ you follow Avatar Aang and his friends as they try to regain peace in the nation from Fire Lord Ozai’s tyrannous reign.
